MDHA acts as the convener of the HUD Annual Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance process for Dallas and Collin Counties.
The Continuum of Care Committee elects a Chair, who also serves on the Executive Committee of the MDHA Board.
The purpose of the Continuum of Care Committee includes service coordination, grant compliance, and technical assistance. The Continuum of Care Committee also helps to identify priorities for new projects which will seek funding in the upcoming grant cycle.
The Continuum of Care Committee meets on a monthly basis. The meeting is regularly scheduled to take place on the fourth Tuesday of every month beginning at 9:00 A.M. At the time of this writing, meetings take place at the United Way building, located at 1800 N. Lamar.
Most Continuum of Care Committee members are also paid MDHA Members.
The Continuum of Care Committee has a sub-committee called the Family & Children's Sub-Committee which is held each month. This meeting focuses on the causes of and solutions to the increase in homeless families. It typically meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month beginning at 9:00 A.M.
