Ron Kirk, the US Trade Representative for the Obama Administration, volunteered today (June 22, 2009) at The Bridge's Second Chance Café. Mr. Kirk was helping to kick off President Obama's United We Serve initiative that will run from June 22 until September 11 and is aimed at getting people to tackle problems in the areas of education, health, energy, environment, and community renewal. This initiative is led by the Corporation for National and Community Service. Mr. Kirk is also a former Mayor of Dallas.
